Ein ehemaliges Bürogebäude mit niedrigen Deckenhöhen, kleinteiligem Grundriss und mangelhafter Belichtung: Dass hier einmal eine großzügige, hell ausgeleuchtete Augenarztpraxis entstehen würde, war zu Beginn der Modernisierung kaum vorstellbar. Doch der historische Bau am Züricher See kann wieder aufatmen: Mithilfe von Schattenfugen entsteht eine sichtbare Trennung zwischen alter Substanz und neuen Einbauten. Im Zusammenspiel mit der subtilen Beleuchtung entsteht so ein Effekt von Leichtigkeit und meditativer Ruhe. Dank eines Spiegels, angebracht am tiefsten Bereich der Decke, scheint sich der Durchgang zwischen Empfang und Behandlungszimmern nach oben hin zu erweitern.
