Between Plänterwald and the Müggelsee, in the Oberschöneweide district of Berlin, two multi-unit buildings are being created on the Spree River. The ensemble consists of a four-storied front building and a two- to three-storied summer house on the banks of the Spree. Both houses have an additional mezzanine-style floor. The staggered reduction in the height of the building ensures that nearly every apartment is offered a view of the water. Large sections of the plot and the whole of the waterside promenade complete with jetty are for communal use. The vertically aligned façade with floor-to-ceiling windows is structured along classic lines. In total, 36 privately-owned flats, of which seven have been constructed as wheelchair-friendly, are being prepared for immediate occupancy. The interiors are fitted to a high standard, with bath and shower facilities for the large flats. Generous living and dining areas with open-style kitchens are extended outwards by means of terraces and balconies. Including the private areas outside, the units range in size from 70 to 200 square metres.
